Ingredients of Frying Pan Lasagna:
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 red onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 14 oz (410 g) crushed tomatoes
- 3 lasagne sheets, cut into thirds
- 4.4 oz (125 g) light cream cheese
- ¾ cup light cheese, grated
- Chopped flat-leaf parsley leaves, for garnish
Method
Making the Sauce
For making Frying Pan Lasagna first of all place half of the olive oil into a frying pan heated at medium-high. Put in chopped onion, crushed garlic clove and top it up with chopped bell pepper. Cook and stir until the ingredients are ready. Add dry oregano and crushed tomatoes; add salt. Heat it through and move it into a bowl.
Frying Pan Lasagna Assembly
Clean out the frying pan. Over the bottom of the pan, drizzle the rest of the olive oil. Spread light cream cheese on one side each lasagne piece. Put two pieces of lasagne, cream side up, at the bottom of the pan. Top with one-third sliced ham (optional), then spread quarter tomato mixture over lasagne sheets. Keep layering until you end up with three more pieces of layered lasagne and the last layer having some tomato sauce.
Finish and Serve
Shower some light grated cheese over the last layer. Preheat your grill as it would be high. Return your pan back to medium-low heat then cover & cook for around fifteen minutes up to whenever lasagne sheets become tender. Take off the lid. Grill over for extra five minutes until cheese becomes browned or melts completely. Serve the meal by adding some chili plus parsley just before dishing out.
